Jewelry thats in the shop

Happy New Year!

As happens with life, a family crisis interjected itself amid a whirlwind of shows and orders and holiday preparations at the end of 2019.

Dec. 4 my  husband suffered a severe acetabular fracture - his pelvis and the socket of his hip joint being broken in four places.  I cancelled my December show and our our life shifted gear to focus on his care for the 18 week recovery. Yeah. Five months.

My show schedule will stay as it is (ACC Baltimore coming up next month) and what is in my shop is all ready made but limited meaning, what is there is all there will be for another month.  While my husband is doing really well but his limited mobility means I am running the show around here and there are only so many hours in a day.

New organic shaped jewelry in the New Year!

Happy New Year to you!

Multi-strand Turquoise Necklace

If you aren't on my email list and didn't already know, my online shop re-open date is January 24. I'm looking forward to sharing my new work, and for those of you who've asked, I'll be stocking old favorites as well.

Although I'm still wrapping things up, deciding which pieces to include in my new collection and which ideas need to ruminate, there will be eight (give or take) necklaces using organic shapes, corresponding earrings and big, bangle bracelets.

If you'd like to be the first to know whenever I release new work, about sales, craft shows and gallery openings, be sure to sign up for my email list.

Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

My husband and I drove to the top of the Chesapeake Bay and spent January 1 eating seafood and watching sailboats. A good way to start a year, I think. An expanse of sea and sky clear my head.

Havre de Grace, Maryland

And then it was back to work for me as I prepared for a gallery opening on January 6 at
The Art Alliance Downtown. Located in the town of  Penn State, this is the gallery space for The Art of Alliance of Central PA  who's main offices are located in nearby Lemont.

New pieces created specifically for this show.

The opening was packed pretty much solid 7-9pm, as in "actually hard to get around the room" at points, and I was amazed at how comfortable I was talking about my work. Its illuminating to hear oneself talk out loud about things that usually go on only subconsciously.

The show runs until January 29, Wednesday through Sunday and if you make it to Centre county (a 2 1/2 hour drive for me) to see the show please let me know what you think!

New on the horizon

Happy New Year to all of you! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

I spent January 1, 2014 getting my Big Cartel shop up and running. Eventually I'd like to make this the shop that links from my website. Once I learn to customize it even more (or I should say once my daughter helps me customize it more) it should be a seamless transition for shopping from that location.

I won't be closing the Etsy shop anytime soon though because there is just too much traffic there and I'm hoping that having two shops will provide more benefit than it makes work.

My ankle is on the mend and I've started 6 weeks of physically therapy that will help me regain my strength and full use of the joint. Thanks to everyone who emailed to wish me well!
