Etsy Flash Sale

I'll be having a 24 hr. Flash Sale, in my Etsy shop only, this Tuesday, July 17, starting at 8am (US Eastern Standard Time). All the sale items will in a the "Sale" section and will already be marked down 30% - no coupon codes needed. Easy.

I'll be filling up the shop with samples and one offs. Some pieces you've never seen before (unless you've been nosing around in my studio) and some pieces are designs that I've been making over the past several years.

All purchases will ship Friday via First class USPS (but if you need something quicker for US purchases let me know and you can upgrade to 2-3 day Priority mail - just send me an email).

And the shops are open!

Both of my shops are now re-opened as I celebrate 50 trips around the sun! (Official celebration on Friday and including Thai food, so I am told ;-)

My web store holds newer work and my Etsy shop will be for older work, beads, samples and so on. If you make a purchase from both shops at the same time, I'll be happy to combine shipping.

This is the largest of the new work - a three strand statement necklace in Ocean blue. It stands out equally as well on black as it does on lighter colors.

The Sale that I almost forgot

Time is getting away from me as I squeeze in all I have to accomplish before we leave in just two short weeks.  Admittedly its easier than for our first trip to Saint Helena nine years ago (there'll be no Legos to pack this time)  but in the flurry of activity I almost forgot to announced my Pre-hiatus Sale!

SUMMER SALE.

The Summer Sale in my Etsy shop starts today, July 26, at noon EST and will run through August 9. Please note: this is a sale in my Etsy shop only however if you purchase something from my other shop, I'll gladly combine the shipping.

There will be necklaces, earrings and maybe a bracelet (still sorting through listings at this point) and 30 or  more pieces will be included. The listings will be marked "sale" and there will be a sale section so hopefully everything will be easy to find.

Summer holiday

My Etsy shop will be closed from June 17 through June 30 while my husband and the boys and I are in the UK. We're fortunate to have our daughter and my parents to man the fort, weed the garden, care for the dog, and each other, while we're away.

You can read about our multi-generation household in the most recent issue of Alphabet Family Journal as they've published a short, candid piece our daughter wrote about a year ago. Ema's writing is excellent, clean and pleasing and I can tell she genuinely appreciates how she's been raised.

I'll be blogging and posting to Facebook a bit while we're away, when internet allows. The rest of the time I'll be wading in tide pools and hiking Hadrian's wall, sketching castles and wandering the moors…or something like that.

Stepping away

After I get some things done online today I'll be stepping away for a one week internet fast. The Etsy and Big Cartel shops will stay open but otherwise I'll be focused on some things that really need my full attention right now.

I can be a bit haphazard. Sometimes that means I "wing it" pretty well but other times, I fear, it just means I'm disorganized. Maybe it depends on the situation but looking objectively, at my work since 2007, I think its about time that I start to get more concise, building collections instead of darting around in a design sense.

It means slowing down, drawing more, planning more, setting goals. I'm ready. 

The Black Sheep necklace has become Shimmer sheep, with a variety of metallic neutrals. Its 50 inches long so you can wear it three ways - long as shown, doubled for a short necklace or knotted for a focal point. Coming soon… three strand matching bracelets for Black Sheep and Shimmer Sheep. 

New work

There'll be some new work in the shop this week finally. I still haven't heard if my Reef bracelets will be included in People Style Watch summer edition but I decided better safe than sorry and started making a stash of them and some of the matching necklaces (short and long) too.

No name for these yet - ocean "something" or wave "something...or something like that.
