The artists at my house: Part I
I'm so very thankful that I live in a house of creative people. This is something that Kyle and I as parents have focused on quite intentionally, that is, that everyone can and should be creative, whether it be with paints, or clay, or camera, or words, or plants or numbers. Creativity is needed in every area of life.
Ben has been happiest with a very fine black marker in hand since he was little. He likes line, he likes detail he likes order in all things, does it show?
Today, proudly, I 'm helping him get his Etsy shop up and running. The Robot Coloring page is the first thing we posted. The PDF downloads can be printed onto sticker paper, iron on transfers, shrink plastic or hey, just used for good old coloring fun! He's working on getting the prints posted sometime today and more coloring pages are in the works.

The package of samples should actually arrive at the Philadelphia ANTHROPOLOGIE office today. I re-wrote the cover letter four times and re-packed the box five times. (The box was free from the lady at the post office who wanted to make sure I had just the right box. A great reminder of why is nice to live in a small town :-)
Although I'll be waiting to hear from them, it will be a very active kind of waiting while I wrestle with the camera over the next couple of days. I decided to hire out and have a tech savvy young person work on my website and straighten up the blog. I need to get the photos together though and one thing I know I'm really lacking in is model shots.

I have a problem
So. Anthropologie has now requested samples. After the initial inquiry in early July I was beginning to think I had fallen off the radar.
I rattled off all my fears to my husband over the weekend "I'm going to have a crazy, busy week! What if they don't like them? What if they DO like them?! What if…? What if…?" I continued in this vein for several minutes.
When I took a breath my husband calmly said, "Honey, anthropologie wants to see some of your work. That's a very nice "problem" to have, don't you think?"

I'm board
No, not bored. I mean board. I'm working on bead boards these days which I don't always do. I often just work on a bead mat but I like that I can pick the boards up and move them around when I have a lot going on on my main work table like this time of year. (I never really get bored actually. I get tired, I get cranky, but there doesn't seem to be time to get bored.)
These are some of my latest Instagram photos. I'm really liking the, well, "instantness" of it and post a lot of work in progress there. Its a great way to get feedback from peers and customers before pieces are even completed. You can follow me @gwilliamson.
